LOCAL GOSSIP
Now with some local comments that has been going on here for the past weeks and months. Last week like this it was discovered that in the morning when a married man together with his wife waked up and found a certain old woman naked and sleeping right in front of their door, the woman was interviewed by them and she said she was going to another town when she feel from the top and feel there so could not go anymore…. Hahaha guess what, now the question is thrown to the crowd, how did she fell from the top and why was she at the top? Is it possible for human being to be in the air without anything like aero plane or helicopter? Mmmmmmmmmmmmm
Now these are what others said from that scene, some said she was a witch and that was trying to go and hunt for human being meat to enjoy, others also said she was on her way to destroy other people in other town and that the gods from the other town returned her by force and that made her drop from the air.
Well what are you comments? If my serious boy friend (Barry) were to be alive by this time he might give good initiation about this so what are your comments too. Is she a witch, does that exist?
Also in some few months ago it was announced by one pastor who said he had a vision that there were a huge number of witches and wizards that have made up their mind to go for a meeting to destroy many people in the country through disease spreading, and night killing. These also made a lot of people afraid and made almost ¾ of Ghanaian population to go to church and pray on that. Although we did not hear anything from that time most were afraid.

killings and wicked doings of some people in ghana
killings and wicked doings of some people in ghana Since the past decade it has been a news all over Ghana here about people who see people on the road and take good items from them, others go to peoples house and rob them, on certain occasions too kill people for blood money. Now on the road, these are some of the tricks and moves they take to steal from people and take away precious things. there are at times when these people stay on the roads in groups and pretend as if they are making some good decisions for themselves, they discuss and walk innocently and always make their moves like they don't have their concentration any where but only what they are discussion. they move on gradually and gradually till they get to where their target is and even there, they have each person in the groups and what they do, some go in to ask politely for some things like they know you but will later call the others and apply force to collect whatever you have and send them away without any trace. Also on the other side of this bad people, some uses bad and old cars, some with number plate and others without number plate. this people also when they are about to take something from people, it is much noticed that about two of the people, "meaning they are always in groups" will get down from the car far away from where they are moving towards to attack and steal. the two that get down from the car also come in and pretend very innocent and like normal people but in a short time the car comes in suddenly and they they do away with what ever they get. infarct there has been much bad side of these operation here in ghana as some people has lost life's, others too are seriously injured. people who are very lucky and does not challenger this people but give them what they want are always free and left unharmed but the most bad part is that when they are challenged and people refused to give them what they want then they take action like to hit you with hard rod, cutlasses, metallic bars, some woods and other times too knives, that cause people to have broken bones, half gone legs as well as hands, even some also loose sight and could not see anymore. Just recently some people just went to a cool place where there were not many people around in the town, they meet some people and asked them for all what they had on them , they should handle them and go scot free but these two people were ignorant and did not want to give the people what they had so one of them lost the ears totally and the other too has broken legs now, And the most sad part is that after hurting you they will still take what they want from you before they go. It has been a big burden on the president that it has been announced that they are taking measures to solve these problems so people might have their peace of mind.
A New Partnership key to meeting Africa's Development Needs Due to low development in Africa here the president of Ghana J.A Kuffour has called for a new partnership between Africa and its development partners to help address the multiple development challenges facing the continent. As someone interested in the development of Africa, he advocated a partnership of shared goals in which African countries would be assisted to secure adequate financial assistance to support development and trade infrastructure and also strike favorable trade agreements that would make African exporters competitive. President kuffour made a call at a panel discussion of high level segment of the 12 th United Nations conference on Trade and development and this took place in Ghana, ay Accra International Conference Centre. The Panelists included the President of Brazil, Mr Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva; the president of Finland, Mrs Tarja Kaarina Halonen; the president of Sierra Leone' Mr Ernest Bai Koroma; the vice president of El Salvador, Mrs Ana Vilma Albanez de Escobar; and the former President of Tanzania, Mr Benjamin Mkapa. They discussed the topic. " Trade and Development for Africa's Prosperity- Haha that is really amazing but its good so far as development is concerned. President Kuffour observed that the current partnership between African countries and their development partners had not been helpful to the cause of their development. A new deal on aid, trade, investment and technology relations between Africa and its development partners must be butressed on a principle of development solidarity, he pointed out. President Kuffour said the new development partnership must also capitalize on the growing south-south trade and economic integration process, adding that Africa ought to anchor that process on regional integration and continental union. He cited the growing trend of south-south co-operation between China and Africa, India and Africa, and Brazil and Africa and remarked; I believe that this trend towards south-south co-operation should be encouraged to break the continuing North- south dependency development paradigm'. President Kuffour also stressed the need to strengthen the partnership between Africa and the United Nations to Ensure increased and sustainable contribution from the world body for the development of Africa. When he took his turn, Mr Koroma said Africa needed to adopt bold and brave strategies to enable them to participate effectively in global trade. He said there was an urgent need for African government to declare zero tolerance for corruption, adding that although such a resolve would challenge vested interests, it would benefit millions of people on the continent. We need to take bold steps because we have a lot of catching-up to do, he remarked and solicited the support of world bodies like UNCTAD in that respect. Mr Koroma urged African countries to remove obstacles to trade and also reduce the cost of doing business and tariffs on goods, contending that a reduction in tariffs could lead to increased economic activity and consequently, higher tax returns. For this part, Mr Mkapa said foreign direct investment was a key factor to Africa's development and urged African countries to initiate policy reforms that would enable them to attract more investments. He also called for the establishment of institutions to address the AIDS menace on the continent to reduce the terrible impact of the pandemic on economic growth. Mr Mkapa called on African counties to be more committed to reducing poverty, saying that development must translate into sustainable wealth creation. He exhorted people he described as Africa reformist leaders to embrace firmly the courage to lead and the courage to pre severe. In his presentation, Mr da Silva acknowledged the importance of south-south co-operation to the development of trade in Africa and pledged this country's support for that cause. Mrs Halonen urged African countries to intensify efforts at reducing corruption and enhancing good governance and democracy, as well as investing in education and information technology to enhance their economic growth an d development. She made reference to Nokia, a mobile telephone manufacturing company in Finland, saying the success story of the company was" education, education, education". For her part, Mrs Escobar also gave credit to education as the key to the success of her country's development. Earlier in an opening remark, the UN secretary- general, Mr Ban Ki-moon, stressed the need for a rapid breakthrough in south-south co-operation to promote Africa's development. He said the alarming increase in global food prices was undermining the attainment of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by many African countries and called for support from the international community to address the problem.
The Government commitment to reducing illiteracy The first lady of Ghana, Mrs theresa Kffour, has said that the promotion of universal basic education and the move to reduce the level of illiteracy by half by 2015 is very high on the government agenda. She has, therefore, commended the united Nations Children's Fund(UNICEF) for the role it has so far played in the promotion of children's education in the country. Mrs Kuffour said this when Mrs Ban Soon-Taek, wife of the United nation secretary general, called on her at her office in Accra. the two also visited the Osu children's home where they interacted with the caregivers and children. the visit to the home was at the request of Mrs ban, who expressed the desire to visit a nursery or children's home during her visit to the country with her husband who is attending, the ongoing UNCTAD XII conference in Accra. According to the first lady, children at the home were equally educated to keep them out of the streets and also to ensure that they were not left out of the development drive of the country.
