Some kinds of animals in Ghana Compared to other animals in the world Ghanaians have certain animals that are locally raised. Some have their origin in Africa. I know everybody know of lion, tiger, cheater, mouse, monkeys, elephants, dears and antelopes but there are few ones that are not common so I decided to open it up for the whole world to know about them and someone of their economic importance and destruction.

To begin with, a local breed animal called goat is very common here in Africa and more specifically Ghana here. We have different types of these animal. The long ones and the dwarf like ones, The dwarf like ones have tough meat and very nice to taste whilst the long ones have very soft meat but its not tasteful as compared to the dwarf like ones. This category of animals are mainly known as herbivores and are mostly in the home and not in the bush, these animals mostly depend on grasses for their daily food, also have special teeth for chewing grasses. Also goats are not harmful animals but very calm and much more neat than some other animals. They are made of different kinds of colors, some being black, others too being ash. Over here people kill these animals for chop bars, domestically and in restaurants and they are best enjoy when used in preparing soup and enjoyed with fufu a locally made food made from cassava and plantain or cocoyam.

Do these foods make something new in your memory. Alright let me get into little deep with those foods. Plantain has it fruits like a banana and also the coco yam is a stem tuber and harvested from the ground. It also have it leaves know as kontomire and that is also very nice to enjoy when used to prepared stew and have high amount of vitamins and look very healthy to enjoy. Another local animal that looks like the goat is also called sheep. Sheep have all their breeds to be tall and can be used as beef but their meat are not tasteful as compared to cow and goat. They can also be used to prepare soup as well as jollof rice or rice and stew. Also there are other food prepared here that are not as common in other countries as it is here. That is yam, yam is much good to eat with the kontomire stew as well as other stew you may think of. Banku is also very nice and heavy food that is mostly eating by the fante people here in Ghana and it is made from maize when milled with a corn mill.
